Random Acts of Vision

Kerry Hayes
The Porch Light

Reception

For 35 years, Hayes has created images to promote major motion pictures such as The Shape of Water and Spotlight. The acuity of vision necessary to capture someone’s attention and make them want to see a film from one frame is on display in this exhibition. Each image is a genre unto itself. No two images are alike but all illustrate Garry Winogrand’s dictum: “The photograph isn’t what was photographed, it is something else, a new fact.”
